Past, Present, and Future of Cloud Computing Services
Cloud Computing is a relatively new trend for businesses. Right from the 1950s, mainframe computing came into existence which is now called in the terms of “Cloud Computing”. It has helped numerous enterprises to boost their businesses.
In particular, Cloud Computing has three major categories:
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
This service allows retailers to save money by only paying for those services which they use for their business. The services here include servers, software, data center space, etc.
Platform as a Service (PaaS).
PaaS provides the capability to developers in building applications, collaborating on different projects, testing the application functionality without the need for purchasing or renting the infrastructure.
Software as a Service (SaaS).
With Software as a Service, applications can be quickly deployed as it is already installed on the server.
Hence, when these three services combined together will help the enterprises in sorting out the complex issues as well as save time and money.
While speaking about the past of Cloud Deployment Services, it emerged from Mainframe Computing where users can access and share the central system through various computers. Next came the concept of virtualization in the 1970s where multiple virtual computers were running on a single hardware platform.
In 1999 with the arrival of salesforce.com, where business applications were delivered through the websites. Soon after Salesforce, another giant Amazon joined in hands to work on Cloud Technology Solutions where they launched Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
Apple, Google also got into the Cloud Market where the technology started to accelerate a higher rate. In 2005, Shared Computing came into existence which requires minimal man efforts and time.
In the present, Cloud Computing is having a great market where most of the businesses are maximizing profits. Even startups and small companies who struggle with investments have found Cloud Solutions to be an alternative yet a profitable one.
While looking into the future, IBM, the most popular computer giant states that 2.5 billion gigabytes of data were generated in 2012. These data were collected from customers of various industries.
This makes clear that Cloud Solutions will have a great future with the increased data. Moreover, advanced countries such as the United States, consider Cloud first. Added, IoT is yet another trend adopted by most of the industries.
The sensors integrated on the devices would generate dozens of data which have to be properly maintained and used. To store them, Cloud, the top-notch Digital transformation Solutions are playing and will play a major role in the upcoming future.
